ALL three Jimboomba Redbacks women's youth teams have finished at the top of the season ladder to claim minor premiership as the finals approach.
The under 12 boys placed second and under 14 boys placed third to earn their places in the finals.
Unfortunately, the under 16 boys were defeated by Coorparoo over the weekend and finished the season in fifth place.
Under 12
THE under 12 Jimboomba Redbacks won a revenge clash against Sandgate and secured a spot in the finals.
In their first game this season, Sandgate emerged victorious 40-28.
Coach Michael Young said the Redbacks picked up their game and achieved a dominant 33-8 victory against their rivals.
"The team has improved out of sight...not only skill wise but just being smarter footballers," he said.
"It was a great opportunity to see how far we have come.
"The team has finished the season in second place on the ladder."
The Redbacks controlled all four quarters of the match.
Outstanding defensive play restricted Sandgate from scoring until late in the final quarter.
Kaden Griffiths stood out as the player of the week and came close to achieving his goal to kick 30 goals this season.
Under 17
ATROCIOUS windy conditions set the scene for a scrappy affair between the under 17 Jimboomba Redbacks and Wilston Grange women sides.
Assistant coach David Balmforth said the Redbacks showed patches of brilliance to keep the ball in the forward line for a majority of the game.
The Redbacks prevailed 25-13.
Elli Darcy-Parker was named player of the week for her work covering the middle of the field.
Under 16
THE under 16 Jimboomba Redbacks missed out on a spot in the finals by the barest of margins after its defeat to Coorparoo.
Key players Cooper Aves and Fletcher Pearce were out of the side while a further eight players were affected by illness.
An undermanned Jimboomba side struggled on the field as Coorparoo scored the first five goals of the game.
The Redbacks fought back to score three goals in the third quarter but it was not enough to turn the tide.
Sam Windsor and Kioni Dawes provided some spark to the Redbacks.
Cameron Doyle's defensive play and Dylan Brisbane's efforts also stood out.
Coorparoo emerged victorious 44-23.
Under 13
The Jimboomba Redbacks under 13 team defeated the Mogill Mustangs by a whopping 69 points.
Mykayla Nurse scored five goals, Tahlia Dempsey scored three and Zahra Brimble and Annabel Anderon both scored one.
Caela Kemp was named player of the match.
The Jimboomba Redbacks won 71-2.
Under 14
THE under 14 Jimboomba Redbacks enjoyed a stunning victory against the West Juniors Bulldogs at Glenlogan Park on Sunday.
Manager Shelli Dickerson said the Redbacks played an outstanding defense game to limit their opposition to one goal.
Seth Dickerson celebrated his 100th game and was named player of the match.
The Redbacks won 54-6.
