MORE than 30 karate students contested the Shotokan Karate Federation tournament at Logan Village from August 3 to 4.
The open freestyle event featured four clubs including Logan Village, Loganholme, Beenleigh and Crestmead.
All karate matches were contested in front of a panel including Brisbane TSKF president Steve Andrews.
All fights were held in front of a panel and centre judge under the watchful eye of Brisbane Tskf president sensei Steve Andrews.
Logan Village karate club member Randall Legg said everyone fought hard with strength and respect.
"Shotokan is known for its speed and power and the near full Logan Village dojo put on a very exciting event. There were no serious injuries and all students took huge steps forward in their karate journey and life," he said.
Olivia Retallack, Cienna Norton and Oscar Norton were congratulated for showing courage and confidence in their first competition.
Logan Village won the competition trophy.
