ALL Jimboomba Redbacks women teams retained their spots on top of the season ladder after clinching three closely contested games.
The under 13 Redbacks faced a worthy opponent in the Moreton Bay side over the weekend.
Behind on points at half time, the girls fought hard to overwhelm the opposition in the final moments of the game and win 35-27.
Mia Coverdale was named player of the week while goal scorers Tejinder Sandhu, Mikayla Nurse and Emma Doyle guided the team to victory.
Under 15
THE under 15 Jimboomba Redbacks girls team emerged victorious in their toughest game of the year against Morningside.
Assistant coach Troy Reilly said the girls did their club proud in the final quarter of the game.
"A few of our girls took very heavy hits and hopefully will all be fit and ready to go next week," he said.
"For weeks now the coaching staff have been telling the players that we will be hunted which is exactly what happened the last two weeks."
Both sides kicked two goals and the Redbacks narrowly won 19 points to 15.
Jimboomba's goal scorers included Teagan Dare and Chloe Peters.
Under 17
THE under 17 Jimboomba Redbacks girls put their bodies on the line to claim a seven point victory against Victoria Point.
Missing four key players, the Redbacks were pushed to lift their intensity in a game that went down to the wire.
Vice captain and player of the match Jaydah Clarke played an inspirational game.
She was backed up with fine performances from Elli Parker, Jes Draper and Hannah McLaughlin.
Assistant coach David Balmforth said the girls achieved a gutsy win.
"All the coaches and staff are so proud of our girls and love the way they band together to get the job done," he said.
"There are two rounds to go until finals then the race is on. It's so close this year and you can't take any team for granted as in finals anything can happen."
The Redbacks won 29-22.
Under 14
THE under 14 Jimboomba Redbacks fought hard against a competitive Kenmore Gold team on Sunday.
Kenmore Gold led during the first half of the game by a wafer thin two point margin as momentum shifted in the Redbacks favour in the third quarter.
The Redbacks looked on track for victory as they led 32 to 27 going into the final quarter but a resurgent Kenmore Gold side fought back to win 48-33.
Under 12
THE under 12 Jimboomba Redbacks cemented its place on the season ladder after defeating Coorparoo.
Heading into the game, both sides were tied for points.
Jimboomba led the first quarter 8-3 but lost ground against a relentless offensive onslaught from Coorparoo in the second quarter.
The Redbacks were also slow to score in the third quarter but achieved a stellar result in the final 15 minutes of the game to win 29-12.
Coach Michael Young said he was proud of the Redbacks defensive effort.
Player of the week Corban Farrow did well in the full back position and saved numerous goals.
