EMMAUS College's prep students have been given an incentive to learn tennis after receiving free racquets as part of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots school partnership program.
Prep to year six sports leader Mik Oberle said 90 excited students were thrilled to take their new 19 inch racquets home last month.
"Putting racquets in the hands of young students is definitely motivational, and will hopefully allow some of them to step up and give tennis a try," he said.
Mr Oberle said students could join a local club, take up coaching with the Futurepros Tennis Academy on the school grounds or play socially.
ANZ's Tennis Hot Shots School Partnership program has provided 110,000 racquets to new school starters since 2015.
A further 30,000 racquets were handed to schools in term two.
This is the second year in a row Emmaus prep students have received free tennis racquets under the program.
