A TRANSLINK bus route connecting Flagstone and Greenbank residents to Browns Plains Grand Plaza Shopping Centre is expected to be operating from November.
The first bus stop is expected to start from Trailblazer Drive in Flagstone and will include a series of stops going through to Browns Plains, including at Greenbank's Pub Lane.
Translink is expected to progressively introduce more bus services in line with demand as part of a $19.6 million 10-year funding agreement between Economic Development Queensland and the Transport Department.
The bus service is going ahead as a part of the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area.
Infrastructure and Planning Minister Cameron Dick said the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area will be home to 120,000 people by 2066.
"The Palaszczuk Government is committed to providing reliable and convenient public transport in Queensland's fastest population-growth corridor," he said.
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said the new bus route would better connect residents to employment, education, shops and recreational spaces.
"It's about improving lifestyle and opportunity, both locally and across the wider Logan region," she said.
"This will ensure our community remains liveable, and attractive for people looking to move here."
Logan MP Linus Power said it was important for government and industry to work together.
"Charis and I have fought for a proper Translink service that connects residents with key local transport hubs, and from these points onto express services to the CBD," he said.
"This new route will be classed as zone three from start to finish, which is great news for the community."
Go card trips from Flagstone to Browns Plans will cost commuters $3.31 while it will cost $6.61 to connect to the Brisbane CBD.
Mr Power said go cards could be purchased from Flagstone's 7/11 store and local news agencies.
Services will initially run Monday to Friday from 5.30am to 7.30pm with greater frequency during peak times.
Community information sessions regarding the route, timetable and stop locations will be held during October and November.
