THE under 17 Jimboomba Redbacks women's side cemented their place at the top of the ladder with a stunning victory against Park Ridge on Friday night.
Assistant coach David Balmforth said teamwork was the key to the team's success culminating in a 71-0 win.
"Switching positions around and allowing players to play in other parts of the ground was an asset allowing our usual backline players a chance to kick goals," he said.
Standout players including Jesica Pang, Ellie Darcy, Lily Pearce and Phoebe Balmforth.
Backline player Hayley Milne claimed 30 possessions from the Pirates.
Seniors
The Jimboomba Redbacks seniors contested a hard fought game against Mayne.
Victory looked certain for the Redbacks from half time with a 30 point lead, but Mayne staged a comeback.
Jimboomba held on to win the game 63-51.
A long run of good form has put the Jimboomba seniors in second place on the ladder.
Under 15
THE Jimboomba Redbacks women's team defeated Moreton Bay on the weekend.
Despite missing six players, the Redbacks achieved a commanding 68-24 win.
Assistant coach Fred Meddings said the Redbacks took control of the game from the first bounce.
"It was also pleasing to see the seperation our forward players were getting on the opposition back line players, resulting in many Redback goal scorers," he said.
Nine out of 15 Jimboomba players scored goals including Chelsea Bidgood, Alice Champion-Lal, Teagan Dare, Jayla Hargreaves, Shontae Iafeta, Lilee Jeffery, Phoebe Pottinger, Imogen Starkie and Brianna Torr.
The under 15 side is on the top of the ladder with four games left in the season.
Under 16
THE under 16 Jimboomba Redbacks had their work cut out for them against the season leading Zillmere Eagles on Sunday.
Team manager Bernard Gaynor said the first quarter was evenly poised with one opposition player knocked out of the game after clashing heads with a team mate.
Zillmere's fortunes picked up in the second quarter and the side went on to dominate the game 107 to 14.
Mr Gaynor said while the scoreboard was one-sided, the Redbacks left the ground with their heads held high.
"At the last break the boys were challenged to make Zillmere earn their win and rise to that challenge they did," he said.
Sam Windsor played a strong game in the final quarter while Rhys Fraser was named player of the match for his intensity while playing with a leg injury.
The Redbacks will face a tough battle against second placed Redcliffe next week.
Under 12
THE under 12 Jimboomba Redbacks were defeated by a more consistent Calamvale line up.
While the first 10 minutes were evenly contested, momentum moved in Calamvale's favour over the rest of the game.
Calamvale won 70-7.
Drew Keen was named player of the week.
Coach Michael Young said the Redbacks were spoken to after the game as it was not an accurate representation of the team's quality.
Under 13/14
THE Jimboomba Redbacks under 13 and 14 sides emerged victorious in their games over the weekend.
The under 13 team defeated Coorparoo 33-0 while the under 14 side beat Pine Rivers 69-15.
