ORGANISERS of events recognising the achievements of people with disability will be eligible to apply for funding under the 2019 Disability Community Event grants program.
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said grant applications would be open until midday on Monday, July 29.
"The Palazczuk government is committed to creating equitable, accessible and inclusive communities for everyone, including the one in five Queenslanders that live with disability," she said.
"The Disability Community Events grants program provides a contribution towards events or activities held during Disability Action Week, from September 15 to September 22, or on the International Day of People with Disability on December 3.
"A wide range of organisation and community groups are eligible to apply for these grants of up to $5000."
Disability Action Week is held annually to empower people with disability, raise awareness of disability issues, and build a culture of inclusion in the community.
Ms Mullen said supporting people with disabilities was a high priority for her.
"I'm particularly interested in seeing events that support young people with disability to better access their community and employment opportunities," she said.
