AN EXPERIMENTAL guitarist who has spent the past six months in Jimboomba is set to perform at three Logan Live Music Month gigs this week.
Originally from Cairns, John Buttigieg, who also goes by the last name of Butagig, has the unique ability to play two guitars at the same time.
This is done by placing one guitar on his lap and the other in the normal position.
The 21-year-old solo finger-style guitarist can play the 6-string, 12-string, classical, electric and banjo guitars.
Mr Butagig will showcase his skills at Extraction Artisan Coffee on July 11 from 10am to 12pm, Greenbank's Middle Green Sports on July 12 from 4pm to 6pm and the Logan Entertainment Centre on July 13 from 6pm to 7pm.
Performing in his first Logan Live Music Month, Mr Butagig told the Jimboomba Times that his style was different to mainstream guitarists.
"It is very experimental and interesting...I have gotten pretty comfortable with it but haven't mastered it," he said.
"I'm going to make it short and sweet and play the best stuff I can do."
Mr Butagig's performing passion was sparked at the age of 10.
During his teenage years, Mr Butagig said street busking was a good way to boost his experience.
He has performed professional gigs since he turned 16 and regularly posts videos online.
Logan Live Music Month will feature 75 live performances across Logan for July.
