A LOGAN man ran from an alleged stolen vehicle and jumped into the Logan River at Beenleigh in an attempt to evade police on May 29.
Senior Constable Jenny Wallis said the 31-year-old man was followed by a Polair helicopter and coordinated a cordon around the man at about 12pm.
"The man swam around in the river for just over an hour, refusing to leave the water and arguing with officers," she said.
The man returned to the riverbank at 1.10pm where he was arrested.
Paramedics transported the man to hospital for treatment.
Senior Constable Wallis said police would question the man when released from hospital in relation to alleged stealing offences.
