RESIDENTS have had a win after calling for the speed limit of a Jimboomba road to be lifted.
Logan City Council completed a speed limit review on Boorah Road between Millstream Road and Peppertree Drive to determine whether the 60km/h speed limit should be adjusted.
Cr Trevina Schwarz said the review recommended the speed limit be lifted to 70km/h before returning to 60km/h when turning into Peppertree Drive.
She said the review was prompted at the request of residents.
Traffic survey data on 12094 vehicles revealed a mean speed of 71km/h on the road with 90 per cent of surveyed drivers exceeding the 60km/h limit.
A review of crash data between 2013 and 2018 showed no reported crashes had occured on Boorah Road.
The speed limit review recommendations were approved by Logan City Council, Queensland Police Service and the Department of Transport.
Cr Schwarz said letters would be sent to residents informing them of the change this week.
