YOUNG people wanting to represent their community can have their say by signing up to join Queensland Youth Parliament.
Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause said youth, aged between 15 and 25 years, were needed to represent their electorate.
Participants in the Queensland Youth Parliament program would be able to hone their public speaking skills and learn about how the state parliamentary system worked.
They could also help raise the profile of issues affecting youth.
“During the program every participant gets a chance to talk for two minutes about an issue in their electorate or of personal experience, and this is a great opportunity to build confidence and public speaking skills, while learning how the parliamentary system works," Mr Krause said.
“All you need is enthusiasm and you will be taught everything you need to know."
Young adults with a passion for creating change were invited to apply.
A Queensland Youth Parliament Program spokesperson said youth members advised politicians and decision-makers across the state.
"They're immersed in unique educational opportunities, experience parliamentary operation first hand, mingle with members of government and the opposition and have their say in fiery debates on topical issues," the spokesperson said.
The deadline for applications has been extended to midnight on Friday, March 1.
