EXPERIENCED and amateur cricket players in Jimboomba and surrounding areas are invited to express interest in joining an eight player Twenty 20 squad.
Last Man Stands Cricket member Matt Turbil said a 10 week amateur Twenty20 season would feature games at the Jimboomba cricket grounds from Saturday, April 6 at 8.30am.
There will also be games at the Logan Village cricket ground.
The Last Man Stands form of cricket includes different rules to traditional cricket.
These include five ball overs and a double play rule making it possible to take two wickets from one ball.
When the second last batsman is dismissed, the final batsman can continue to bat until he is also out.
Wide balls can only be repeated once in an over with subsequent wide deliveries resulting in three runs for the batting team.
Mr Turbil said he was hoping to see four to six teams for the upcoming season.
"Hopefully in the second season we will have eight or 10 teams," he said.
"We started playing at Ipswich two years ago and saw all the clubs out here and there is no Twenty20 cricket for players over the weekend so thought why not give it a crack.
"We are trying to attract people from Flagstone, Yarrabilba, Logan Village, Greenbank and even people from Beaudesert can drive down here."
Cricketer Cameron Turbil said the Last Man Stands version of the game was designed for matches to run no longer than two hours.
"Some teams are scoring about 250 runs from the 20 overs," he said.
"A good score is anything 180 and above and a good score when bowling first is 160 runs or below."
It will cost $15 per player for every game.
Last Man Stands Twenty20 cricket was founded in the UK in 2006.
