A 31-year-old Kingston man has been charged in relation to an alleged carjacking at Logan on Wednesday morning.
Police allege the man was driving a stolen silver 2010 Ford Focus hatchback at 6am before stopping at the Logan and Kingston Road intersection.
It is further alleged that the car reversed into a grey 2018 Honda HR-V station wagon four times before the man removed a 55-year-old man from the damaged vehicle and stole it.
The 55-year-old driver was not injured.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the man later allegedly drove the stolen vehicle at high speed and crashed into a power pole at the Jacaranda Avenue and Civic Parade intersection at Logan Central.
Police arrested the man on the scene.
Officers searched the allegedly stolen 2010 Ford Focus and found drugs in the console.
They believe the vehicle was reported stolen from Dunstan Street, Moorooka on January 1.
Police allege the vehicle was involved in a petrol drive-off at a Kippa Ring service station on January 19.
The 31-year-old Kingston man will face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 24.
He has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, one count of unlawful entry of a vehicle, robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and fraud.
