BEAUDESERT District Orchid and Foliage Society is has announced its Autumn Show for Orchid and Foliage Plants.
The event will be held on the weekend of March 9 and 10 at the Canungra School of Arts Hall in Pine Street, Canungra.
Beaudesert District Orchid and Foliage Society secretary Peter Rice said there would be many orchids in spectacular bloom, as well as ferns, begonias, bromeliads and aroids on display.
“There will also be orchids and foliage plants grown by local society members on sale at reasonable prices,” Mr Rice said.
“Commercial growers will be selling orchids and other foliage plants while other trade tables will be selling orchid growing accessories not generally available to the hobby grower.”

Mr Rice said the event was one of only two shows held every year, with the spring show to take place in March.
He said it would go ahead rain, hail or shine, with about 750 expected to show up from as far away as Caloundra and Toowoomba.
“There will also be a cake and craft stall run by a local ladies’ church guild,” he said.
“A knowledgeable and experienced orchid grower, Laurie Baxter, will be speaking on “The Basics for Growing Orchids” at 9.00am and 11.00am on the Saturday and from 10.30am. on the Sunday.
“The show runs from 8am to 3pm on the Saturday and from 9am. to 2pm on the Sunday.”
Admission is $4.00. Plenty of off-street parking and refreshments available.
