TWO local fundraising groups have joined forces to spread the Christmas cheer for victims of domestic violence.
The Beau-View Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and Palestine Shrine Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem packed 20 bags with personal items which included everything from notebooks and biros to soaps, toothbrushes and deodorants.
Gifts on their way to women’s refuge
Leigh Kennedy of Palestine the Palestine Order and Coralyn Cowin from OES presented the bags to the church St Thomas's Anglican Church, Beaudesert, today, Tuesday, December 11.
St Thomas's are collecting for a women’s refuge supported by the Anglican Church.
“We take a collection every month and give it all away to charity,” said Ms Cowin.
“That’s what we do.”
