FAMILIES turned out en mass for the launch of Yarrabilba’s new Jinnung Jalli Trail, today, November 24 2018.

The six hectare park, is a connector between exisiting parklands and is the 10th park rolled out by by the masterplanned community to join parklands which include Darlington Park and the recent 2018 Logan Urban Design Award winning Buxton Park.
Families enjoyed a sausage sizzle turned on by Logan Village Lions volunteers. Mums, dads and grandparents got to know their neighbours while kids enjoyed activities that included painting and tree plantings.
Residents took home native tree seedlings native to the region and used by the region’s first nation people the Yugembah for food and other uses.
They included Seiber’s Paperbark, Forest Hop-bush, Swamp Box, Black She-oak and Broad-leaved Paperbarks.
Lendlease community partnership manager Dean Patterson said all were sourced as seed from Yarrabilba, transported to nearby Borallon Prison, propagated by horticulture students learning their craft through TAFE courses and returned home for planting.
