Brisbricks is best known for its massive Lego expo held in Brisbane. It also stages small pop-up shows, but this show at Logan Village was a first for Logan City.
It featured a display of Classic Space Lego collected by Greenbank dad Troy Aspden since his own childhood. Set over four table tops it was a wonder to behold.
Crowd favourites included Stargate and Battlestar Gallactica sets dreamed up by Brisbricks president Pete Bilton of Yarrabilba and dozens of classic and collector Stars Wars showcases.
A crowd favourite was a mural by Ed Miller, made from more than 200 Lego figures.
“Most are Star Wars figures, but there are some surprises there if you take a really close look,” he said.
BrisBricks donated $2000 worth of Lego to five children’s charities. They included Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital, The Ulysses Club Lockyer Valley for Christmas toy run, domestic violence charity Rize Up, The Cage, a youth organisation in Redlands, the K Mart Wishing Tree and Hit 105, raising funds for Variety.
