THERE has been a mutiny at Woodhill State School with pirates taking over the helm on the last day of term three.
Woodhill State School P&C organised a Talk Like a Pirate Day theme on Friday, September 21, with students and teachers dressing up to suit the occasion.
The school was also treated to a special performance in support of drought stricken farmers from former Gleneagle farmer and musician Keith Dunn.
Mr Dunn accepted donations to be distributed to Drought Angels.
Students also contributed to a gold coin donation to go towards supporting children suffering from cancer.
Woodhill State School head of curriculum Jann Higgins said the school also held a read aloud day which encouraged interaction between parents and students.
“The parents stay and they come out in groups and read stories to the kids for 30 mins,” she said.
“They then go back to class and proceed with normal day.”
