Future Pros tennis coach AJ Thompson said a group of more than 35 teams would compete at the US Open Red Ball Challenge at the Emmaus College tennis courts on Saturday, September 8 from 12.40pm.

“The players have come up with team names and the countries they are representing,” she said.

“We will have player accreditation passes to make it as realistic as possible and they will be playing for a trophy.”

Junior club members will partner with parents on the court for an exciting day of outdoor fun.

Ms Thompson said Millman’s career highlight victory against arguably the greatest tennis player in the world hit home for the juniors.

“A lot of them are inspired by John Millman’s win, it brings it closer to home,” she said.

“His win has covered the front and back pages of major newspapers...his journey is a real journey. He defied the odds.”
