PARKLANDS Christian College students will be better prepared for the workforce after the opening of a Vocational Training Hub and Hospitality Centre.
The $3.8 million educational facilities, planned five years ago, were unveiled on Friday, August 31.
Parklands Christian College principal Johannes Solymosi said the additional resources available to students would open doors for them.
“We are going to offer certificate courses in hospitality and provide opportunities for students to get ready for work while still at school,” he said.
“The John Blaze building is our vocational training hub...it is an open space with a flexible elarning area for senior students to essentially get ready for a career pathway.
“These facilities are a tremendous upgrade to what we had before.”
The buildings were funded with support from the Queensland government, Federal government and school community.
Logan MP Linus Power, Forde MP Bert van Manen and Logan councillor Trevina Schwarz delivered speeches at the opening event on Friday.
