EMMAUS College prep students are developing their tennis skills early after receiving free racquets last week.
A parntership between ANZ and Tennis Australia has helped deliver 89 junior tennis racquets to young students under the School Partnership Program.
The initiative has already seen 80,000 racquets given away since January 2015, with that number to rise to 110,000 racquets by the end of 2018. Emmaus College Physical Education teacher Mik Oberle welcomed the initiative.
“It gives the students an opportunity to have a go at tennis and makes it easier for them to practice as they now have the tools. There is one racquet for every student.”
More than 2650 schools benefit from the program.
