STUDENTS cheered, ran and tugged as the Jimboomba State School sports carnival fired up on Tuesday.
The event included the whole school from prep to grade six and included sprinting, tug of war and wide range of sporting activities.
Grade four student Daniel McKinnon broke a school record on Monday for 200 metre sprints with a time of 32.55 seconds for the under nine category.
The previous record holder was Jake Overend with 32.64 seconds in 2004.
This comes after year six student Ryan Sutcliffe broke a 23-year old discus record at the school grounds on Wednesday last week hurling an impressive 23.46 metres.
Sports carnival results are expected to come later this week.
