RESIDENTS, business and investors will come together to help shape an exciting future for Logan Central at a summit as part of a city-wide economic development initiative.
Attendees will join experts in design, economic stimulation, job creation and urban innovation at the Logan Central Summit on May 11.
“As a council we’re looking ahead to Logan Central’s future and we want to include residents, business owners and anyone with an interest in the suburb to be a part of that journey,” said Logan City Council’s Planning and Economic Development chair Cr Russell Lutton.
“We want to capitalise on the many opportunities available to help develop Logan Central as the civic and cultural heart of city.
“To help Logan Central unlock its full potential, we have a panel of experts lined up to share their national and international perspectives on how we can make Logan Central an interesting and exciting place to live, work, visit, play and do business in.
“Seats are free but limited so I encourage anyone interested in attending the summit to register attendance now.”
The initiative is part of a city-wide series of council-hosted summits and follows successful events at Springwood, Beenleigh and Logan Village with Meadowbrook and Jimboomba to come.
The Logan Central summit will be held at Logan Entertainment Centre from 8.30am to 5pm. A community feedback session follows from 5.30pm to 9pm with a second feedback session at Logan Central Plaza from 9am to 12pm.
No registrations are required for these feedback sessions.
Cr Lutton said they would provide an opportunity for people to talk to council about their ideas for the future Logan Central.
In the lead up to the forum, the council has engaged experts Placescore to undertake a place assessment to understand what the community values in their ideal city centre and how they rate the current experience of main streets in Logan Central.
The online survey runs until April 23 at www.placescore.org/logancentral with all survey respondents will be added into the draw to win one of two shopping vouchers.
