THE under 12 Logan Village Falcons have reached a skill level never achieved by the club in its history – entry in the Brisbane Youth Premier League.
Logan Village Falcons are facing 11 other teams in the division, pitting the soccer players against elite sides including Olympic FC, Brisbane City, Albany Creek, UQ FC and others.
Coach Matthew Armstrong said this achievement did not come easy and followed continuous and detailed training.
“These guys are playing at the pinnacle of football in Brisbane,” he said.
“We have been working these guys for 12 months of the year and only stop for Easter and Christmas. it has been a difficult time-frame but no-one else in our area is doing this.
“It is the first time this has been offered to the club and you can not get any higher than this level.”
The Falcons’ next game will be against Capalaba on April 21.
Coach Armstrong said he expected the match to be hotly contested due to a rivalry between the two teams.
“We have the upper-hand already. We beat Capalaba in the premier league trials,” he said.
“Capalaba were undefeated until they faced us, we beat them and they didn’t like it.
“We are expecting an aggressive game and there will be a lot of physical training leading up to it.
“We focus our boys on playing cleanly, not on tactics or trying to get inside their head.”
The under 12 Falcon’s strength lies in its attacking game and speed.
Coach Armstrong said the side’s success would not have been possible without coaching director Ian Judd’s guidance.
