QUEENSLAND police have confirmed that an 81-year-old man died at the Stockleigh Road and Mount Lindesay Highway intersection at South Maclean on Tuesday.
The crash happened at about 10.35am yesterday and involved a 46-year-old uninjured male semi-trailer driver and the 81-year-old man who was driving a ute.
Police closed the Mount Lindesay Highway from Camp Cable Road to Greenbank Road until shortly after 2pm.
This comes as a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the 55-year-old Moogerah woman rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital passed away last night after a three-vehicle crash on Monday, 12.15pm, at Tamborine on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road.
The woman was in a critical condition after her gold hatchback was involved in a head-on collision with a van and was then hit by a truck travelling behind the hatchback.
The 19-year-old male van driver was taken to Logan Hospital in a serious condition with leg injuries and abdominal bruising while the truck driver was uninjured.
Police investigations are continuing into both crashes.
