CLASSIC cars, motorbikes and rockabilly girls will feature in a charity car show event at Hillcrest next Saturday.
Rockin’ Jimmies member Louise Davies joined forces with My Pizza Pizza partners Stephen Attwater and Mick Basak to bring the community alive and raise funds for Chicks Conquering Cancer.
The event will feature live entertainment including an Elvis Presley impersonator and a rock band.
There will be raffles, food stalls and best car and best dressed prizes.
Proceeds from the event will go to a cause close to Ms Davies’ heart.
“I wanted to fundraise for Chicks Conquering Cancer because (president) Kathy Smith is a good friend of mine,” she said.
“I would like to see this become a full-time thing where we hold one event a month and pick a different charity.
“It is about bringing the community together.
“We used to go out and hang out as friends but we don’t get that socialising anymore.”
Chicks Conquering Cancer set up in Jimboomba in 2009. It supports women struggling with cancer.
The charity car show will be held at Hillcrest shopping complex outside My Pizza Pizza, on the corner of Middle Road and Coronation Drive, from 4-9pm.
