JIMBOOMBA police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh has called for motorists to take care after a series of traffic crashes.
“Traffic crashes are up in the area and with the forecast of rain coming into next week we are advising people to make sure they leave further distances between cars in front,” he said.
“Don’t be distracted by mobile phones and drive according to the conditions and your ability.”
His appeal comes after four crashes in six days left at least two people with minor injuries.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said a man in his 20s was assessed by paramedics at 6.14am this morning after his vehicle collided with a sign on Orr Court in Hillcrest.
The man declined to be taken to hospital.
Senior Sergeant Waugh said emergency services attended the scene of a three-vehicle accident on Camp Cable Road on February 21 at 10am which occurred as a result of a rear end impact.
One motorist was taken to Logan Hospital with a sore neck and minor injuries.
A 45-year-old Daisy Hill male motorcyclist was taken to the Princess Alexandria Hospital on February 18 after colliding with a reflective roundabout sign on Tamborine Street in Jimboomba.
“The motorcyclist failed to negotiate the the turn and collided with the sign,” he said.
Minor injuries also occurred as a result of a crash at Greenbank on February 15.
Senior Sergeant Waugh said a tow truck and Mazda vehicle were involved in a rear end crash at 1.45pm on Greenbank Road.
