JUST over three months into the V8 dirt modified season, two Flagstone racers hauled five wins from seven races.
Coyote Racing competitors Trev Wiley and Russell Ward competed across Brisbane, Lismore, Grafton, Toowoomba and have the Queensland Titles in Maryborough in their sights for February.
Wiley said they raced to support veterans, a cause close to their heart.
“Both Russell and I have served and been deployed on operations during our career, hence why this topic is so important to us,” he said.
“Soliders we have served with have taken their own lives due to depression, anxiety and PTSD related issues.”
Coyote racing sponsors have donated $5000 to military charities this year including Mates 4 Mates, Ruff Love and Overwatch Australia.
The duo competed in Lismore over the weekend, and while Wiley’s V8 dirt modified Bicknell Chassis axle fell out, it was a good experience.
“A Lismore local took it out but it was a good hard night racing and any night we come home with two straight cars is good.”
Wiley returned from a 13-year break from racing last year and has ambitious plans.

“Motor racing has always been an interest for me and speedway racing is one of the first sports I really got involved in,” he said.
“This year I want to take out the sportsman division and chase the Queensland title next month in Maryborough. That is the main goal for this season.
“As long as we keep our maintenance up and stay out of trouble on the track I’m going to back myself and say we have a good chance of getting the Queensland title.”
Wiley’s car reaches up to 120 km/h on the track.
Coyote Racing picked up accolades including the Lord Mayor’s Cup in Lismore, the Sportsman triple challenge in Grafton and the Paul Britton Trophy at Archerfield.
