Jimboomba X Stadium’s Scott Bannan is determined to bring a music concert to Jimboomba.
The man who has brought numerous successful Australian Supercross Championship rounds to Jimboomba for a number of years told the Jimboomba Times he has held the idea of bringing musical entertainment to the area for quite some time.
“I think one supercross a year is enough, I definitely want to bring a concert to the area
“I think the area still wants something to do and we have got a venue sitting there that we don’t use.”
Mr Bannan said he has already spoken to Jo Marinoff from Hills International College on whose grounds Jimboomba X Stadium sits about the idea and added that he envisions it being something similar to concerts held regularly at Sirromet Wines in the Redlands.
“Maybe like an 80s, 90s rock thing or a country and western concert, but we could do a different one every time,” he said.
Mr Bannan said he would be looking to put a plan in place for the concert in the coming weeks with his concreting business downing tools over the Christmas period.
“It’s probably easier for me to put together than supercross is because you don’t have to maintain the track and organise officials and riders and have to deal with things like injuries, it’s probably a bit crusier,” he said.
“I’ve got mates that are in the music industry so I can talk to those guys straight away.
“I’m making enquiries now, I’m that type of guy I can’t sit still and work stops soon because the concrete plants all shut from the 22nd and 28th.
