The Dunamis Church at Yarrabilba is seeking donations of pantry items for its 2017 Christmas hamper appeal.
Pastor Melinda Hartley said the appeal was now in its third year and was a chance to bless families in need and who are feeling extra financial pressures this Christmas.
“We have seen a continuous need in our community and our church family wants to help. We are asking for donations of pantry items to help us reach more families in need within the Yarrabilba area,” she said.
Pantry items can include bisuits, cereals, chips, chocolate, Christmas pudding and custard, corn chips and salsa, muesli bars, orange juice, pasta and pasta sauces, rice, soft drink, spreads, tinned corn and crushed tomatoes. All items must be non-perishable.
“It is always hard to hear families facing hardships, let alone during the Christmas season, which is supposed to be a time of love and family,” Pastor Hartley said.
People may also wish to sponsor a Hamper of Hope at yarrabilba@dunamislife.com.au.
Donations are being received at Thom and Ann’s restaurant, Shop 4 36 Yarrabilba Drive; Lendlease, Yarrabilba Sales Office, Darrau Avenue; and Harmony Early Learning, corner Combs and Carew streets.
The appeal ends on Friday, December 8.
