PLAYING with a giant kaleidoscope, projectors and shadows helped students at C&K Woodhill Community Kindergarten put physics to the test.

Teacher Katrina Smith said the fun was all part of the Light Play exhibition on at Ipswich Art Gallery.
Ms Smith said 22 students were bused earlier this week to the gallery for the science-based fun, thanks to travel funds provided by Logan City Council.
While the trip delighted those children who had never caught a bus, Ms Smith said further excitement was experienced at the gallery.
Light boxes, echo tables, light sculptures, projection boxes and dancing all entertained.
“Through the hands on exploration of light and its properties, children explored numerous artistic and scientific theories, including shadow and colour and texture and shape,” she said.
Ms Smith thanked Logan City Council for enabling the excursion.
“We wouldn’t have been able to attend this wonderful educational experience without the help of the Logan City Council…,” she said.
