Stronger Logan Country with Stronger Communities Program
Calling all Logan Country community groups.
Nominations are being sought for worthwhile local projects as part of round three of the Stronger Communities Program.
Grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 are available to meet up to 50% of the costs of small capital projects. There is a pre-application process and strict criteria apply.
Please start this nomination process by calling my office for a preliminary nomination form.
A local consultation panel will then consider all proposals and selected projects will then be invited to formally apply
This is a great opportunity for the federal government to support our local community and I encourage community organisations and sporting clubs in Logan Country to apply now.

Get the jab to fight the winter flu.
Winter is well and truly here and locals are reminded to get the flu shot to protect themselves against the dreaded sore throat and sniffily nose.
The 2017 flu vaccines are available in your local general practices and pharmacies – and are free of charge to those most at risk of getting sick this flu season.
Under the National Immunisation Program, those people aged 65 and over, most Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those who suffer from chronic conditions are eligible for a free flu shot.
Pregnant women are also eligible for a free flu shot, it’s safe at any stage of pregnancy and protects not only Mum, but baby too.
I encourage locals to consider getting the jab to fight the flu this winter.
As always, if I can be of assistance with any federal matter, please feel free to call my office on 5541 0150.
