Year 8 students at Emmaus College are calling on the local community to give them a helping hand for their studies of society and environment class.
The students have created a survey to investigate issues which affect the local environment.
Through studying causes, effects and opinions on local issues, the students hope to propose solutions and influence attitudes and policies about important matters affecting the area.
They will be sorting the data into graphs and tables and using this in their research to create a feature article in response to their findings.
Learning and teaching leader – SOSE Robyn Coase said she hoped the community would take the time to response to the survey.
“Your responses are anonymous and will allow us to understand community opinions about issues such as land clearing, invasive species, litter, air and waterways pollution, endangered species and habitat destruction,” she said.
