Safety issues have been raised about Camp Cable Road after a woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Monday, June 5.
The nose-to-tail crash occurred at the intersection of Hotz Road.
Resident Phil Notaro approached the Times after he saw the crash and helped to direct traffic on the day.
“It’s only a matter of time until someone get seriously injured or killed here,” he said.
“We see a crash like this at least once a fortnight.
“I’m sick of hearing the bang and sirens and having to think ‘is this the one where we lose someone?’”

“If that truck or car had been going any quicker it would have gone straight through the bus stop.
“At peak hour time there are so many children at that stop, we could have been looking at something much more serious.
“The amount of buses turning in and out of the actual bus shelter and the non-sheltered stop is just a recipe for disaster.
“I’m sick of hearing the bang and sirens and having to think ‘is this the one where we lose someone?’”
Is there a solution?
Mr Notaro said he believed the issues arose as drivers needed to negotiate both Amber Crescent and Hotz Roads intersections in a relatively short distance.
“Not only can they not slip around the vehicle which is turning into each off street, there isn’t enough signage to alert them to the set of turns,” he said.
“Ultimately the road needs to be widened but an interim fix could be advisory signage and dropping the speed limit.
“Surely signage is an affordable solution for right now, but we really do need slip lanes or turning lanes for traffic travelling both ways.”
Mr Notaro said the traffic has increased tenfold in the past three years.
“As both sides go into ditches vehicles can not even negotiate around a crash,” he said.
“This road just banks up when there is an incident here.”
Whose road is it anyway?
Camp Cable Road is designated as a state controlled road.
The road is the current boundary for the Logan and Beaudesert state electorates.
Logan MP Linus Power said he had requested the Department of Transport and Main Roads review the signage and linage of the Hotz Road intersection.
“The reports of these crashes is concerning and I think it is important that there is a review,” he said.
Jimboomba Times also requested comment from Beaudesert MP Jon Krause regarding road upgrades and safety improvements but he did not respond by deadline.
