Tough times such as the recent floods tend to bring out the best in people.
One such example is two locals banding together to help people whose vehicles have been affected by the flood water.
Tow-truck driver ‘Nudge’ from Mr Skid Towing has already begun to help locals move machinery and vehicles affected by the flooding that inundated large parts of Logan, including Jimboomba, Flagstone, and North Maclean and other suburbs.
The tow-truck driver had already completed six jobs free of charge on Monday, including moving a shipping container off of the Mount Lindesay Highway.
Nudge said although he had not been personally impacted, he saw a way he could help others.
“I’ve just offered a service of going out and helping everyone who has been affected, we’re towing their cars or machinery to repair places for them,” he said.
“People can just get in touch with us through Mr Skid Towing on Facebook, I’m happy to go where ever people need me to go to get their stuff fixed.”
Jimboomba X Stadium’s Scott Bannan has aided Nudge’s community minded effort by paying for his fuel.
“I was in every flood since 74’ here, so I know how bad they are,” he said.
“Nudge is a good mate, I’ve known him a while and I knew what he was doing, so I thought if I could chip in to help out I would.
“Jimboomba has been pretty good to me my whole life, I just want to make up for the traffic chaos we cause when we run a Supercross show, so it’s the least I can do.
“If people need help just get on to Nudge, he’s just a local bloke helping other locals.”
The free service will be available on Wednesday and you can find Mr Skid Towing’s contact details on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Mr-Skid-Towing-133918286652840/
