The Logan River is still rising and Maclean Bridge levels are set to peak at 20.5m during tonight.
At 5.50pm the river reached 19.81m.
This means the river has surpassed the 1991 flood level.
The next Bureau of Meterology update is expected at 9pm.
Police urged motorists to stay off the roads and to ensure they do not drive through flood waters.
They added that about 20 swift water rescues had to take place in the Jimboomba region on Thursday.
More than 600 people across Logan are still without power.
Woodhill Fire Station is open to local residents without power until 10.30pm.
They have showers and charging stations.
