Access Community Services will be celebrating empowered women and their roles in healthy communities as part of their International Women’s Day luncheon from 12pm on March 7.
The luncheon will also honour and celebrate the remarkable achievements of women from refugee and migrant backgrounds at the free event held at the Logan Central Community Centre.
Everyone is welcome to join the luncheon to be inspired by women who have paved the way and to have the opportunity to connect with groups and organisations that can support women as they begin to step out.
This is the second year of the State Government’s Queensland Women’s Week, which is an expanded celebration of International Women’s Day held between March 6 and 12.
To mark the theme of the week, ‘Be Involved. Lead the Way’, Access Community Services will share lunch in the company of exceptional women whose stories of resilience and strength will inspire and encourage, while connecting with some outstanding women’s groups committed to supporting and creating opportunities for local women and girls.
The lunch will also feature a series of digital stories, which will be uploaded to the Access Facebook page each day of Queensland Women’s Week.
The videos will illustrate five stories of strength, inspiration and empowerment from key women who have been involved in Access and our local community over the last 30 years.
Register, for the free event, by March 1 by emailing events@acsl.org.au or calling 3412 9987.
