Jimboomba Little Athletics will be sending a strong team to the State Championships being held in Brisbane at the end of March after 61 club members qualified to compete.

It will be a great weekend for Jimboomba supporters as local athletes will be competing in 172 events over the three day competition which will attract thousands of athletes from all over the state.
The club has 13 members who have qualified to compete in the maximum allowable five events including Maddison Aitkin (Under 14 javelin, 499m, long jump, triple jump and 200m hurdles), Sam Emblen (Under 17 400m, 800m, 1500m, 300m hurdles and javelin), Ryan Hanser (Under 17 800m, 1500m, 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles and triple jump), Kyle Howlett (Under 17 100m, 200m, 400m, 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles), Tiarna Isua (Under 13 400m, 800m, 1500m, 200m hurdles and javelin) and Felila Kia (Under 13 javelin, shot put, discus, 80m hurdles and 200m hurdles).
Camryn Newton-Smith (Under 17 long jump, high jump, 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and javelin), Lilly Pearce (Under 15 long jump, high jump, 400m, shot put and javelin) Benjamin Roberts (Under 15 shot put, discus, javelin, triple jump and 300m hurdles), Imogen Roberts (Under 17 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump and triple jump), Lachlan Tate (Under 15 400m, 800m, long jump, triple jump and discus), Kelsie Willoughby (Under 17 400m, 800m, 1500m, 300m hurdles and discus) and Sam Windsor (Under 13 javelin, discus, shot put, high jump and 200m) will also be contesting five events.
Athletes who have qualified to compete at the Little Athletics state championships for the first time include Leila Dalton-Morgan, Ethan Gallagher, Alex Hamilton, Jonas Hannam, Zygmin Irving, Tiarna Isua, Matthew McManus, Chelsea Olsen, Avalon Pearce, Kai Walsh and Emily Yuan.
