Logan West Meals on Wheels are putting the call out to the community to join their volunteering organisation.
The group services homes in Greenbank, Logan Reserve, Munruben, Chambers Flat, Browns Plains and everywhere in between.
They currently have 90 clients on the books and about 80 volunteers who contribute different amounts of time each month.
Each week the volunteers, cook and deliver more than 400 meals.
There are no special requirements to be a Meals on Wheels volunteer, but the group are looking for more volunteers with drivers licences.
Each volunteer will also be police checked before commencing their work.
Volunteers would only be required for two to three hours around lunch time through the week, but can choose days and frequency of volunteering.
Secretary Annie Gratton said the organisation always needs more volunteers.
“We are often calling on the same volunteers as we send a driver and one other volunteer out to clients,” she said.
“These clients really rely on our volunteers and look forward to seeing them.
“No one comes to volunteer here for a reward. It just a likeness that they all share.”
Vice president Rhonda Blundell said one of the main reasons she began volunteering was to have a reason to get out of bed in the morning.
“We just meet so many beautiful people out there,” she said.
To express interest in volunteering call the Logan West Meals on Wheels office on 3800 5263.
