Veresdale Scrub State School, Flagstone State School and Jimboomba State School libraries are welcoming new additions donated by Jimboomba Quota.
The Quota members donated copies of Liam the Superhero by Heidi Dredge as part of the QuoCKa reading program and Quota's hearing and speech program.
VSSS teacher Sharon Conway said the book was a great child-friendly resource with its bright colours and rhyming text.
“All of our children have had some contact in one way or another with a child who suffers hearing loss,” she said.
Flagstone master teacher Caren Salo said the book would be a great discussion starter with children about disability.
“The discussion and awareness of the implant in this case will be important,” she said.
Jimboomba support teacher of literacy and numeracy Nikky Baker said the book was a great way for hearing impaired children to be acknowledged.
Quota representative Janet Hughes said the books were great for hearing awareness.
“It opens avenues for children to understand about others hearing and how children that do wear a Cochlear implant for instance can do the same things,” she said.
