A female football team from Logan Village are proving you’re never too old to play the game.
Called “The Witchez” the team is comprised of women between the ages of 16 and 60.
Goalkeeper Sharon “Freighty” Taylor is the team’s oldest player.
At 60 years old, Ms Taylor said playing football for the Witchez afforded her the opportunity to get exercise and keep fit, socialise, meet people and have fun.
“If you can kick the ball, you can play,” she said.
The team trains at Logan Village Falcons All Sports and plays a match every week in the winter.
Ms Taylor said having experienced the benefits of playing with the Witchez first hand she would like to see more mature women getting involved with team sport.
