After a narrow and disappointing loss last week the Jimboomba Redback seniors were determined to turn their form around against Mayne on Friday night.
A positive and structured approach on the training track resulted in a relaxed playing group determined to play for each other and to instruction.
The final score of Jimboomba 16.18.114 to Mayne 1.1.7 gives an indication of the dominance the Redbacks displayed throughout the night.
A miserly and resolute defence directed by Brett and Trevor Heppell set the foundation for the win with a strong brand of rebound football.
Slick ball transference through the midfield resulted in quick entry to an open forward line led by Tim Martin who displayed season best form to kick five goals while also providing opportunities for his fellow forwards to register on the scoreboard.
Liam Towner, Josh Graham and Kristan Rooks were once again outstanding in a well-polished display of team oriented football.
Jimboomba now face the highly fancied premiership contenders University of Queensland this Friday night in St. Lucia in what should be a precursor to this seasons finals campaign.
