The Park Ridge Pirates under 14s team traveled to Pine Rivers to play the Pine Rivers Swans and came away with a 17 point victory for their efforts.
The Pirates were slow to start the game and were hampered early by some inaccurate kicking but after a few moves and changes, the Pirates put themselves back into the game with some great play from the likes of Matt Lang and Ethan Lennen going into the last quarter.
Lang and Lennen’s teammates followed their example and lifted their involvement off and on the ball.
The Pirates coaching staff asked the under 14s team to lift for the final quarter and the young Pirates responded led by Ben Waldock and Ethan Waddell who were key in rallying their teammates around with an awesome effort to get the Pirates over the line.
The final score was Park Ridge Pirates 4.12.36 to Pine Rivers Swans 3.1.19.
Under 12s
The under 12s travelled to Sandgate on Sunday, they fought hard until the end going down 33-10.
