Logan seniors have the opportunity to become tech savvy with courses headed to libraries in the area.

The tech course will include skills such as how to use an iPad, navigate social media, shop online and access government services.
Seniors who complete the tech savvy seniors course will gain a basic skill set to use new technologies.
Participants Joan and Terry McGregor said the courses were a great way to keep up new platforms.
“We use computers quite often but things change so quickly,” Ms McGregor said.
“It’s good to to know we can go to the local library for our books and to keep up-to-date with online technologies, and I would encourage others as a good interest when you retire.”
The Tech Savvy Seniors sessions are funded by the state government and are run by Logan City Council.
Member for Logan Linus Power said more than $160,000 had been allocated to community organisations across the state to provide support services, including transport, to seniors participating in the Tech Savvy Seniors sessions.
“Developing the confidence and skills to use technology and be part of the digital community and economy has become increasingly important to our seniors,” he said.
Mr Power said the courses would help older people to maintain their independence and reduce social isolation, which was crucial to their wellbeing.
“Funding is being provided to 14 organisations in rural and urban locations across the state from April 1 this year, and I’m glad Logan seniors will benefit from this funding,” he said.
Mr Power said the Palaszczuk Government had invested more than $590,000 in the Tech Savvy Seniors initiative, in partnership with Telstra who contributed $200,000.
Tech Savvy Seniors sessions are being held at public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres throughout the state.
Sessions begin at Logan Village Library on May 4 at 1.30pm
There will also be a session at Jimboomba Library on May 17 at 1pm and Greenbank Library on May 24 at 1.30pm.
Other session times are available at Beenleigh, Logan Central, Logan West, Logan North, Marsden and Hyperdome libraries.
The Tech Savvy Seniors sessions are funded by the state government and are run by Logan City Council.
