A Main Beach man has been charged with numerous offences after allegedly ramming two police cars in Jimboomba on Sunday night.
Police allege they intercepted a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old man at a service station on Brisbane Street in Jimboomba at around 7.15pm after an earlier incident where a vehicle allegedly evaded police in Helensvale.
It is further alleged by Police that when officers attempted to take the driver into custody the main beach man reversed his vehicle and then accelerated, damaging two police cars.
The man has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of a motor vehicle, failing to stop a motor vehicle, assault or obstruct police, possession of a knife in a public place, receiving tainted property, possession of utensils or pipes, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
He has also been charged with two counts each of wilful damage of police property and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on March 29.
