The pair will celebrate a remarkable achievement next month 70 years of marriage.
To top it off, Joh will turn 100 at the end of the year. Eileen is 92.
The couple grew up and were married in Lismore, northern NSW, and share a good sense of humour.
The pair moved to Logan City in 2006 to be near daughter Julie Holston who helps care for them, although both remain in relatively good health.
Were Queenslanders now, Mrs Cramp said.
Mr Cramp said he had no particular advice for young people entering marriage and making their relationships last.
A dry character, he puts his own successful union down to perseverance.
I guess were too stubborn to do anything else, he said.
Aside from a long and successful marriage, Mr Cramp has another claim to fame, being one of the few remaining Rats of Tobruk.
The Rats of Tobruk were 14,000 WWII diggers who defended the Libyan port of Tobruk against General Erwin Rommels feared Afrika Corps. The Nazis described them as trapped rats, a term seized on by the Australians.
Mr Cramp also will celebrate his 100th birthday at the end of the year.
Its another stepping stone on the path of life, he said.
The pair have five children, 17 grandchildren and about 17 great grandchildren and will celebrate 70 years of marriage on March 16.
