Division four candidate Laurie Koranski said someone was trying to nobble her campaign, with 30 of her signs stolen in just one night.
She said she had only just launched her campaign and put out corflutes when they disappeared.
It was clear that she was being singled out because in some places her signs were taken but those of other candidates remained untouched.
Ms Koranski said it was doubtful that it was the work of hoons and she had reported the issue to police.
Most of the signs were on fences and some on public land and the loss had cost her $500 to $600.
“And that’s not to count all the time put in erecting them,’’ she said. “You always expect to lose some signs and have moustaches drawn on some but this was a surprise.’’
Most of the signs were taken from fences at Windaroo, with some in Mundoolun as well.
“The police were great and if anyone has seen anything, they should report it straight away,’’ she said.
“I’m worried that this won’t be the end of it. It’s about the last thing I need.
“The midnight raids have got to stop.’’
Ms Koranski’s woes continued on Facebook where it was alleged that two men in a Falcon ute were seen knocking down mayoral candidate Luke Smith’s signs, while putting hers up.
Ms Koranski said Mr Smith had lost election material but her husband Andrew put up her signs and touched no others. They did not own a Falcon utility.
The Logan local government election has been dogged by complaints about signage, with some candidates erecting hundreds of signs as they chase plum council roles.
Mayoral candidate John Freeman has said he would run a social media campaign and, unusually, vowed not to put up a single corflute.
He argues that people are sick of signs and believes that his stand will win him votes.
This prompted Griffith University political scientist Paul Williams to warn Mr Freeman that he would have little chance of success if he did not increase his presence by using signage.
