Logan Performance Bush Poets wowed crowds at Chambers Pines Golf Club today with their special Australia Day performance.
More than 50 people headed out to listen to the Performance Poets with their traditional and humourous bush poetry as well as Australian songs performed by Wayne Caldwell.
Logan Performance Bush Poetry Event Coordinator Geraldine King said the poets were really happy with the turnout to their event.
“It’s just so wonderful,” she said.
“We have all our different poets who perform the traditional stuff then we get into all the funny stuff.
“We just want to bring bush poetry to Logan.”
“We are celebrating all thing Australian today and we want everyone to just a great time here (for Australia Day).”
“We all had a practice, even though we are pretty laid back.”
Logan Performance Bush Poet Paul Wincen said it was great to get out and perform on days like Australia Day.
“It all helps with our competitions,” he said.
Chambers Pines Golf Club Owner Andrew Revie said it was a full house for Australia Day celebrations.
“This is the first time we’ve had the bush poets out here,” he said.
“It’s good to see something different here.
“We do have karaoke following (the poetry performances) and we are going to have cricket down on the fair way too.”
