LOGAN mayoralty candidate Ken Houliston says he is unphased about not even rating a mention in odds released recently by a betting agency for the mayoralty of Logan.
The executive director of The Spot community service centre in Browns Plains does not appear in Sportsbet’s odds, despite being among the first of the candidates to announce his tilt at the city’s top job in July.
Mr Houliston is one of four in the race, alongside former federal member for Forde Brett Raguse, Bravehearts founder Hetty Johnston and current Division Six Councillor Luke Smith.
According to Sportsbet, Cr Smith is the odds-on favourite.
Mr Houliston, said he was not phased by Sportsbet not including him on the list.
“I’m very happy about it actually. I’m not worried about it at all, I’m glad I’m not being punted on,” he said.
“I guess people see it as a poll but for me the only poll that matters is the one on the day.”
Mr Houliston also shared his thoughts via Facebook.
”I don't want the citizens of Logan to bet on me, I want them to believe in me,” he wrote.
“Please don't vote for me if you think I'm a gamble, be sure, your city deserves a sure thing.”
Mr Smith is at $1.90 odds on Sportsbet, while Ms Johnston is on $3.00. Mr Raguse is at $4.00.
The local government elections are in March 2016.
