JIMBOOMBA Gymnastics Club's rhythmic gymnasts showed off their talents at their first competition of the year recently.
Level one to four gymnasts Kali Bugslag, Sienna Considine, Lauren McMasters, Chelsea Hottes, Zoe Flannery, Kazmira Euler and Hollie Caminiti competed against clubs from across south-east Queensland at the Gold Coast.
Across the levels the gymnasts competed in routines with apparatus including ropes, balls, hoops, ribbons as well as free routines involving no apparatus.
Coach Renay Downey said while the girls did not win any medals, it was a good fun learning experience for them.
"A lot of the girls were competing for the first time and there were a few nerves," she said.
"Once they relaxed and started enjoying it though they did really well. I was really proud of them.
"Rhythmic gymnastics requires a lot of practice and perseverance and the girls trained hard in the lead up to the competition."
Jimboomba Gymnastics Club will hold a rhythmic gymnastics competition on July 20 from 7am to 3pm at the basketball arena on South Street.
Ms Downey said the community was welcome to come and watch the gymnasts perform.
